Senior Electrical Designer
Successful candidate is a motivated self-starter and team contributor with 5-10 years’ experience within an EPCM environment and brings the following demonstrated experience:
- Identify / prepare key deliverables (single line diagrams, electrical layouts, detailed wiring diagrams, etc.) conforming to internal and external requirements throughout various project stages (scoping studies, detailed design, etc.)
- Prepare, verify and implement electrical design calculations such as voltage drop, cable ampacity, cable tray loading, conduit fill, lighting, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to interface between the lead electrical engineer, other engineering disciplines, project engineer, project manager and Client to ensure timely delivery and accuracy of information
- Under the direction of, and working closely with the Lead Electrical Engineer, lead a team of engineers, designers and CAD operators to accomplish all aspects of required work to ensure technical integrity and designs per Company and Client standards / specifications
- Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation; experience with AutoPlant and other 3D modeling software an asset. SmartPlant experience an asset but not required
- Plan, monitor, manage and direct project scope, schedule, costs, and quality of work

- Ability to effectively manage numerous, and shifting, priorities with tight timelines
- Demonstrated knowledge of CDN electrical code; proficient with using tables and rules to perform electrical design
- Preparation of key deliverables and ensure conformance to established standards throughout project stages
- Comfortable working with AutoCAD and MicroStation
Required- C. Tech or C.E.T. or P.Tech. in Electrical Engineering Technology; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
